Thank you Spencer, Sarah, Faye and Sarah- they are lovely comments Sarah C- I felt the key in this for me was, to paint the darkest dark in the rose, but not as dark as it looked- and then the lightest light- it helped to keep the tonal values tight and as correct as possible-
