Midnight Tram
My first visual language, so to speak, was photography and it still remains a powerful influence for me. When I began to do and learn more about digital painting I found it difficult to separate myself from the ingrained tenets of photography – sharpness and detail. Eventually, I reached a greater degree of comfort with an image where selective parts bore more detail and others less so. I think it’s this uninhibited freedom that I love about impressionism. This painting is perhaps an example of what I’m working towards.
