Fire at Totem Falls
Forest fire is the most terrifying wilderness experience anyone could have for both humans and animals. An insatiable monster with a devouring maw that can, with the right conditions, traverse hectares of forested land faster than a horse can run leaving in its wake complete devastation. I once lived in a community where nearby a catastrophic forest fire had swept through some 50 years previously leaving several people, including a whole family, victims of its power and terror. Some older residents still remembered those days with the paralyzing fear of fire remaining indelibly imprinted on their psyches.
