Lovely painting - just enough detail to tell us what it is all about, but not so much as to make it appear fussy. Love the foreground particularly.

Lovely work. I also like the loose spontaneous brush marks in the foreground. Those wild flowers with the long stalks (cow parsley?) really pull the painting together.

Lovely painting Walter, especially the foreground...love the detail

Some great paintings posted today; this one stands out for me, alongside Charles Wilby's, because it's different from your usual style; like the irregularity of the roofs and the view through the cow-parsley.

Very original! I agree with the other comments about the foreground! Well done!

Hi Thea, Louise,Fiona, Lesley, Robert and Mia - many thanks for taking the time to write such nice comments - the flowers in the foreground according to my outdoor painting companions are cow parsley, red campion and bog iris - me - I just paint em!

Oh -and nettles - ouch!

Walter this is beautiful, great composition too.

This is absolutely stunning, Walter! It's beautiful in the detail as well as the looseness of the piece. And the colors are fabulous.

Hi Carole and Seok - many thanks for your kind comments - you are very generous.

Just discovered you. I really like your style, and your use of colour. It is muted and soft but not insipid. Very nice indeed.

Hi Lynne - thanks you very much indeed for your kind words
