Walter, I am a fan of your work and my eye is always drawn to your paintings. It is the little touches of colour amongst the soft washes that are so attractive in this painting. Really nice work.

Hi Thea and Carole - thanks for your comments - it's a bit different painting outdoors - I found the farm cat sitting in my palette at one point!

I am on a "plein air" course with well-known Scottish artist Liz Yule this week and we were at a lovely old farm in Tayside. The elderly couple who own the farm very kindly allowed us into their own garden which had lovely flowers, bulging vegetables and ......a parrot. Anyway, I dodged the rain under a tree at the bottom of this great garden and painted away yesterday. We should have returned to the farm today but it was rained off, so this was finished indoors. I also started a life drawing class last night so I am all painted out! Painting is about 15x8 inches on an Arches Rough pad using W&N artists tubes.
