Full of atmosphere, wonderful.

Full of character and atmosphere.

So much like an Old Master’s Val-Irene.

Thank you. My abstract piece I have painted today is so different.

This has a calming influence Val-Irene, beautiful.

The strange thing is Fiona I hate deep water but I love painting it. To feel calm in water is something alien to me. Your comments are always thoughtful. Thank you.

Your observations about water are interesting Val-Irene. Many of us are attracted to water for some reason, I love being near water and looking at water but I don’t like being on it, or in it! Yet, I find the sound of water to be one of the most soothing and comforting sounds there is. The water/sea in your painting is pulsing, like a steady heartbeat…..which again, I find soothing, like the slow tick of an old clock. A lot of nonsense probably! Lol

Yes it is strange Fiona I love the look of water and sunlight and reflections and the sound of water is soothing but as you say I have that fear which you also seem to have. I know exactly what you mean about the tick of an old clock. Good to get your thoughts.

Great subject and well balanced tones Val, superb work!

Brilliantly done!

I have often drawn these lovely old barges and searching through my sketch book for inspiration I decided to do an oil painting.
