A super painting Martin! A lovely blue sky (haven't seen many of those lately) and I really like those birch trunks. Very good!

Another cracker Martin. I love it.

Excellent painting Martin ☺️

Cracking!

Super work Martin.

Such a lovely composition with those commanding birch trees bathed in light, so captivating Martin.

Beautiful watercolour technique Martin

Beautifully 'hidden'. Everything about this is top notch.

Nicely balanced combination of ink and watercolour. Superb dry brush work on the foliage.

Oh Martin, what peace this beautifully rendered painting brings.

Super painting, it looks like the sort of place to while away a few hours.

A lovely painting Martin👍

In my usual current method I sketched en plein air with ink and added watercolour washes in studio. This lake feels more coastal than inland, probably because of the sandy beaches. It’s actually a local former sand quarry and is hidden because it’s not yet easily accessible. The bright white birch trunks stood out against the bright blue sky and I couldn’t resist.
