Unusual and very pleasing. Nice work Martin.

Yes, definitely has the Oriental influence, a beauty Martin.

This is really lovely, Martin.

Very striking Martin. It reminds me of the delicately painted Japanese/Chinese screens.

Classy work Martin. Very stylish with an oriental touch. (By the by, 'oriental' is a favorite word, conjuring up all kind of images...a bit dissappointing to find the literal meaning is 'east of Asia'.)

A very interesting concept. Nicely done indeed Martin.

A great composition beautifully and delicately painted.

Thanks Jim Heather Jenny Fiona Lewis Chris and Spencer. Your comments are welcome and much appreciated. I didn’t know exactly what oriental meant Lewis, but you are right it does sound more exotic than it is!

It’s eye-catching - the lovely deep colours against the bright leaves and all with , as everyone has said, an oriental feel.

Thanks very much Marjorie

Oriental style composition and combination of blue and yellow very attractive.

Thanks Leslie I agree. A good combination of complimentary colours

Beautiful, wonderful colours,

Based on a young Horse Chestnut tree in Shaw Wood Doncaster, I was attracted by the large bright leaves on slender branches. The last few leaves remaining on the smaller trees. It made me think of my granddaughter wearing her mum’s big shoes for some reason. The design may have come from my dabbling in stained glass and Chinese painting, who knows? Pen and ink with watercolour on Canson watercolour paper. A5
