Thank you Dennis, Seth and Thalia. I put in the foreground to try and give some sense of distance, and to focus on the gate rather than the castle, butI wasn't so sure it worked. It looked very empty and I was tempted to crop the jpeg just below the fence and rename it "Gateway to Dover". Having got your comments, I am glad I posted the full painting.
