Very beautiful Thomas. I do like this technique of yours.

I agree, beautiful style.

Another stunning painting Thomas. Have really enjoyed your gallery.

What an interesting technique you describe. When I first looked, I felt sure you had used masking fluid, but you say not. The painting is gorgeous and just what I like. Colours you chose are beautiful. How nice that the grapes in the middle are hiding behind a leaf. A wonderful painting. I love it!

Thank you all for your friendly comments.

Hello Stella, thank you again for your description of what happens in the picture. It's not only the choose of one colour. I always do the same: I paint wet in wet and mix different colours in each object. This graduated wash in connection with soft edges and the darke background will create light and space in the picture.

Your painting is magical Thomas, so very beautiful.

Thomas, you have the most wonderful awareness of light.

I'm a retired teacher and now I'm painting watercolours. I'm a self taught painter an prefer the negative watercolouring. That means: Often I paint the negative background around the object (without any masking) , so the object can stay brighter.
