A delightful painting - fresh, bright & breezy!

A nice, carefree feel to this one Thea.

Beautiful, lively, colourful painting! I think you have done this boat proud. (by the way if you are into BUILDING boats, we could do with an ark before we float - or are blown away!!)

This is really lovely Thea, beautiful colours.

Thank you so much Helen, Stephen, Ann and Denise for your encouraging comments. Everyone needs to keep reminding me to be bolder and braver - so you have done a good job! Ann, do I take it that the weather is bad where you are. Here is it dry and mild and not at all windy, but isn't that typical of the UK -such a variation in weather all over a very small island.

Super painting Thea, well done !

ITs beautiful the coluors the subject cant better it:)Linda

YES, Thea, it is WET & WINDY!! So much so I had to find a snowy pic to work on!

Hi Thea, As soon as I saw this I knew it had to be you, lovely work and so bright are the colours, I guess that one has to practice quite a lot to achieve this finished depth of colour. A worthy addition to a great portfolio. Best regards Chris.

Lovely and bright, super perspective.

Nice work Thea. The boat has a lovely aged feel to it. Good tones too.

Thea , this is you at your best. The colours are perfect and it feels "bright and breezy". Best wishes

This has worked beautifully, and the colour is strong yet subtle. lovely.

Thank you all so very much - all your comments are really valuable to me and that sort of encouragement does make such a difference in the battle to improve.

Bright, bold and beautiful Thea......wonderful balance of flotsam & jetsam.

A very clean, fresh and attractive painting Thea

Super work, especially the fresh colours and sky. A sure inspiration to head towards our harbour again ( gales permitting ! ). Well done.

Typical watercolour, lovely peice.

It's all been said by the above comments Thea, a lovely bright, fresh watercolour.

You got it just right! Fantastic colours for a beautiful composition. This is really striking.

Super-duper !! Shall have to start calling you skipper soon !! So glad you resisted the temptation of tissues [ sure you know what I mean !!] lol

Wonderful bright colours, no fear of 'wimp territory' Thea. Great drawing too.

Thank you to everyone who has left such lovely and generous comments. It means such a lot to me and gives me a push to be a bit bolder.

A nice fresh watercolour Thea, the perspective of any boat is always difficult to get correct, but you have managed this so well, love the colours and tones used, this is a really good piece to add to your portfolio.

Very bright and bold - a lovely painting Thea - well done

Lovely painting Thea,

Lovely painting Thea.

It makes me smile, must be the colours and the feeling of sunny days!

Thank you all very much for adding your thoughts about my painting. I do love painting boats as they have such a satisfying shape, although I agree with Graham that the drawing of them can be very tricky. I also love the colours and paraphenalia which surround the fishing boats and find it so inspiring.

Your "risky" has worked beautifully Thea! Your colours are clean and chearful which makes the painting look happy and sunny. And look at all those comments!! I'm the 30th! Well done!

Jewell bright colours Thea, your experiment worked. A very lovely painting.

Thank you so much Satu and Val. I have been rather overwhelmed about how kind and generous people have been about the painting. However, it is rather a case of one posted on the gallery, one in the bin at the moment! I am working on a portrait at the moment that isn't going too well ......joys of painting, eh?

This more than works, Thea! It is stunning! Love the colors, and I agree - getting the tones right the first time takes a lot of skill, and you have obviously hit all the right tones. Well done!

Congratulations on making the top10 Thea - so well deserved and I can't believe I haven't commented on this one before especially since it is so special.

I like this picture, excellent. Love the colours, the whole picture makes me feel cheerful.

I missed this beauty, Thea, because I had "Auntie flue" visiting. But I saw you on the Top Ten for February, so : many, many congratulations. This is well deserved. :) Mia.

Thank you very much Seok, Michael, Kathleen and Mia for your nice comments and congrats about the Top Ten. Rather unexpected I have to say as I only posted it the other day so didn't think it could be in the running for the Top Ten. Do hope you are better, Mia - lots of horrible bugs around this winter.

Many congratulations Thea on making the top ten, sorry I dont know how I missed this stunning painting, I love everything about it

Thank you, Petra, you are very kind.

Thought I'd make it 40 comments Thea, congratulations on your top ten painting, a super boat! It doesn't seem to matter when you post them, sometimes they pop up in the following month's top ten, not sure how or why, but I can fully understand why this painting has been so popular :)

Thank you Lesley for your very kind words.

Thea, another lovely painting. This reminds me of a holiday I had in Hastings some years ago.
