Really great handling of different methods with control Thea

Now this I can read, great interpretation Thea

This makes me smile. This is excellent. Carry on experimenting.

Great stuff im loving your new style Thea keep em coming .

You're getting good at these Thea and managing to get the splatters moving in the right direction which I know isn't easy. You seem to have a certain control of the paint whereas I just end up with random splashes and a speckled studio wall. Inspiring work from you as well. For me anyway, I'm off to practice the technique after seeing this super Emu!

Great fun Thea! Love this !

Thank you very much Dennis, Glennis (yes - not too abstract!), Gudrun, Dennis, Louise (you should see me after a spattering session - definitely have the 'measles' look!), and Sarah, for such lovely and kind comments.

This is just brilliant! It made my day, Thea.

I meant to thank you as well Thea for suggesting this brilliant spatter challenge which has given me lots of ideas for new paintings!

Glad to oblige, Louise! Actually, I keep getting all sorts of ideas flying into my head about new things to try. I have been buying some special equipment for my next experiment - bet that's got you guessing now, lol!

He's gorgeous, got that comical look that all emus seem to have. And well done for getting the paint to go in the right direction, and just enough to get the desired shape. Love him.

Thank you very much Satu and Sharon, glad if it gave you a bit of a giggle. I did actually add an explanation when I posted the painting, but goodness knows where the text went - confusing site, isn't it? I did explain that this is a mixture of spattering and blowing the paint. I just used puff rather than a straw to blow the paint and relied on turning the paper this way and that to try to get the desired shapes and the feathers going in the right directions. It's a very un-precise science!

The Emu has got to be the perfect subject for this style of painting Thea.......brilliant!

Thea, the description is on the right hand side, next to the photo above your head.

Thank you very much Fiona for your lovely comment. Satu, durrr... didn't see that, but then I was looking on my iPad and the page is not the same as when I view it on my pc. Thank you for finding it for me!

Love this Thea, the comical looking emu really lends itself to a good splatter! I'm away from home at the moment so splattering is on hold for me, I'm looking forward to having another go when I get back!

He certainly forgot to use hair gel......... just great!

You have got this off to a 'fine art' Thea. Love the choice of colours too.

What a lovely ugly duckling! Just like the emus, I&#39;ve seen. Great Work!<br />

Must have a go at this spatter challenge it looks as much fun to do as the results you&#39;ve achieved, well done for injecting some humour and a different tack to the Gallery!

Thank you very much Christine, Avril, Carole and Linda and Debs for your lovely comments on my poor follicly crazy emu! Debs, after the one liners and the fun a lot of us had with them, I do think it is nice to have an experiment of one sort of other running on the gallery. I think it gives people a mental break from their normal working methods and I find that after doing some fun pieces, I settle to my more usual work a lot better, with the added bonus of some extra little skills learned from experimenting.

Well I just had one of those days and this emu has cheered me up. Love the effects.

This is great love the way the paint has moved

Thank you very much Dorothy and Nicola - glad you like the crazy emu!

I did this one with a combination of spattering and blowing paint. I didn't use a straw, just puff, moving the paper around to be able to blow the paint in the direction I wanted. It's a bit hit and miss, but I think I managed to get the feathers generally going in the right direction. They are funny birds, aren't they!
