I like this very much Sue, monotone work appeals to me, I like the simplicity of it.

I saw this in an art magazine, but must have lent it out, as I haven't got it now. As a practicing amateur artist, exploring how pastels work to create shape, tone and effects, I really liked the photo of the original oil painting and decided I'd create my copy using soft pastels. Using light grey pastel paper and cool shades, along with white and dark colours, I was fairly happy with the effects of blending and mark making in this basically monotone work. It has however, left me desperate to explode into colour !!!
