Yes Stephen.I much prefer this. The greens are more natural and the shadow of the trees seems also to have picked up just a touch of reflected hue. Did you paint the first version from a photograph? That is never easy

I agree with Alan and what i find appealing, intentional or otherwise, is the use of shapes/ large areas - something which i always find appealing

Many thanks Michael and Alan for your thoughtful comments. This is the same painting as the previous posting, just with some additional work to strengthen the shadow areas. I did work from a photo I took last summer in a local country park.

After reading the constructive comments on this one, I thought I would 'tweak' it a bit. I have strengthened the left hand trees and the shadows and added a little pen work.
