Great depth in this one Stephen. That lake looks icy cold. You have definately captured the season here. Have a great Christmas.

You also have a great Christmas and more inspirational art next year! I love your use of colours in this one. I shall bear that in mind ....

Thanks Chris, Helen and Gudrun for your encouragement.

Brrrrrr, you've really captured a feeling of cold in this one Stephen, well done. Merry Christmas to you.

Thanks Val, have a great Christmas.

When the sun comes out, it transforms the countryside at this time of year; and when it doesn't - this is what it looks like! My only suggestion is to lay off the rigger at the tops of the trees, rather indicate the "umbrella" shape with the side of your brush. But it's the overall effect, not the details, which matter here, and you've certainly captured English December weather. Have the best Christmas basic human decency permits: and we shall all have to respond to your challenge to produce great things in the new year.....

Many thanks Robert for all your wise comments during 2012 and all your lovely work too.

Great painting as always and all the very best for Chriatmas and the new year. I really do appreciate all your kind comments over the past year which and I look forward to next years 'activity'. All the best Stephen.

Thanks once again Michael, look forward to seeing more of your Leicestershire scenes and cartoons.

Paynes grey is a wonderful colour - I love it. Your excellent painting shows why.

Thanks Crispian, i didn't use Paynes Grey for a long time after listening to the advice of several art instructors but I use it again now and enjoy it.

It may be a quickie Stephen......but by God it's a gundun!! In fact I think it's 'one of your best' again!!! Thank you for all your advice and support over the last year, have a wonerful Christmas!

Many thanks once again Fiona, trust you have a great Christmas too.

As near as I think i will get to a seasonal picture, no snow but it certainly looks cold! 20 minute play with a large sable, a rigger, paynes grey, with a little burnt sienna and yellow to warm it up a little. Many thanks to all my 'virtual' friends on POL, have a great Christmas, I'm expecting great things from you all in 2013!
