Yes you did. It is very nice. It has charm.

Many thanks Shirley.

Very atmospheric Stephen and it does have an olde world, gentle feel about it which I like a lot.

Forget the original - without seeing it my take is that this is well painted in your own very recognisable style and muted palette - and a great outcome.

Many thanks Louise and Michael for your kind comments. i think these are old weavers cottages, with large upper windows to give light for the weavers to work in. So they are pre industrial revolution, when the work was moved from homes to the mill. Sorry about the history lesson, I got carried away!

It's very atmospheric, Stephen. I love the gentle light and the quiet, restful feel of it.

Many thanks once again Seok.

Lovely mood to this Stephen , I love this sort of subject ... Thanks a lot for your kind words on my latest ...

A great watercolour Stephen and I enjoyed the history lesson too.

Many thanks once again Fiona.

Lovely work, even for a copy.

Got to the art group to find I'd forgotten my I pad with a photo on I wanted to paint from. Looked through a pile of photos and found a print of a watercolour by a local artist David Ford. This is my version, painted from that, must admit it is not a patch on the original but perhaps I learned a little?

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
