Michael thank you so much for your detailed response to my work your comments are positive and constructive. I have taken on your points regarding the bridges (at least the far two) I will look at knocking them back a little to better frame the foreground.

I have now dry brushed the furthest two bridges to help bring the boats forward looks better thanks for the feedback Michael

While traveling home from a trip to Newcastle upon Tyne I stumbled on this scene along the Quayside. A handful of small boats and a group singing suitable folk songs to those on the river bank. A cool late afternoon sun had started to dip towards the west with the light adding a glitter and sparkle to the surface of the water.Sketches made on the spot and a follow up visit to the Quay to paint in the bridges provided the structure for the scene playing out in the foreground.
