I have been watching this develop and its really very good, Skylar.

I sense a great deal of melancholy within this superbly executed painting Skylar.

Dawn - Thank you so much! This came from (actually) an image of my mother which I carry in my memories. She was a brilliant, talented woman, who never pursued her own dreams. 4 children, and a husband who had little motivation.

Carole - Thank you! You have read the image perfectly. This whole setting comes from an aggregate of memories from my own austere childhood.

Oh so very good, Skylar, Perhaps many of us feel a great sense of melancholy/ empathy with our parents as we grow older. Your love for her shines in this and your first image. Both are brilliantly executed pieces, your skill is immense.

Both pieces are really nostalgic and I can see you put a lot of thought into them Skylar. Our memories stay with us thank goodness.

Very evocative piece Skylar, one I can certainly relate to.

Thalia - OMG! Thank you so much! I guess we have a bit of a mutual admiration going here! (If you only knew how insecure I am about my works...)

Margaret - Thank you! Yes, very thought out. I seem to be more nostalgic the older I get. Time really does help filter out all but the best memories.

Russell - Thanks so very much! I'm tempted to ask which one. The first image is based on my mother, the second is actually fashioned after my grandma.

Indeed Skylar, Me too! It only takes one tiny look/word to knock all the confidence out of me! your painting are inspirational be assured, I mean it!
