Poppies

I have done a couple of poppy paintings myself recently. I have to say this is gorgeous - I love your colour combinations Siv - a really attractive painting.

I agree with the above comments, Siv: this is bright and atmospheric. One of my favourite flowers and you made a success of this. Well done.

Gutta is used in silk painting, isn't it? Do you paint on silk as well? I like the texture in your poppies, and of course the rich colour: the weather's a good deal better now (at the moment, anyway) but this is still very cheering even when it has nothing to compensate for.

Thank you for all the encouraging comments. Robert you are right about Gutta. I don't paint on silk but bought some to keep acrylic ink from running into the wrong areas. I was not successful with the inks but now use the Gutta in Mixed Media where it might be effective. The white lines in the Autumn arrangement look white on screen but are in fact golden and made with a felt tip gold pen. I hope you are not disappointed about this.
