Acrylic on Paper. Luta is a Red-Tailed Hawk which resides at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana. Injured as an eyass (baby hawk), Luta was rescued and treated. While still in recovery, the baby hawk imprinted on humans and therefore thinks she is one of them. She is unable to survive in the wild as she would not recognize other Red-Tailed Hawks as her own kind and would not have any ability to hunt.
