I like this very much,

This example tempted me to look through the whole portfolio, where I found as expected a wide variety of interesting and lively subjects and a useful level of mastery in watercolour techniques. I shall be looking out for more!

This is a very striking rendering of the city. Very nice watercolour.

I agree with the above comments, Seok. Especially with Jo: you have a rich variety, subjects and a stunning watercolour-technique and in my view: you can DRAW!!!. I love your work. Is this painted from a picture or were you there? You must travel a lot by the diversity of locations.

This is wonderful. I am always amazed at how you can get so much detail and interest into your paintings using very quiet colours and tones. You also know exactly how to make your viewer look at your focal point. Super work.

So much detail but not overdone. A lovely painting.

I like this too. It is very well done.

Thank you all very much! Mia, I am always very flattered when a master draughtsman like you has favorable comments on my drawing skills, which I am very belatedly trying to hone. Thea and Val - I still have a long way to go to simplify my paintings. I am trying to keep the details down, but not quite there yet. As for Thea's comment about directing the viewer's eye, again I am still trying to get there, but, my art teacher's cardinal rule is to fade out the sides. Easier said than done but I hope his little tip will be useful to those of you who may want to know..

PS Mia, sorry I forgot to answer your question: I painted this from a photo I took a few years back when I visited Oman. And yes, I have travelled much more in the past 3 years in search of new material for my art. I found that now I paint, many familiar places are taking on an additional and more interesting dimension. Last year, I viewed London (where I lived for many years) with completely new eyes.

Beautifully painted. You have such a light touch. I know what you mean about fading out the sides.... for the moment it just seems to be in my "mind"!

Beautifully painted, a super composition and very well described buildings - love the fort in the background.

Love how you have painted the background fort, nice blend of colours.

Beautiful watercolour Seok! It caught my eye in the gallery straight away and then I saw that it's yours. I thought first that it's in Spain, a road going to Alhambra, very similar view and feeling. Your use of light ,gentle colours is just wonderful!

Thank you very much, Avril, Lesley, Carole and Satu!

Downtown Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman. The city is typified by its low lying white buildings. The Portuguese Fort is in the background
