Wow! This is certainly a change for you Seok. Great colours and composition. I don't know what Gelli plate is though.

Great textures! It sounds as if you are enjoying this new way of making a painting very much Seok! I do like the effect that you have around the sun.

It's worked really well Seok, as Sarah has said the print around the sun is lovely. I haven't got time at the moment but as soon as things quieten down I will experiment with my Gelli plate again.

A different and great painting Seok

Very different, and different is good Seok

What a dramatic change in style - but it really works!!

Thanks very much, everyone!

Gelli unknown here also but it's a smashing piece.

Thanks very much Derek. For Fred's and your information, the Gelli plate is a gelatin plate with a very sensitive surface that's used for monoprinting. The sensitive surface enables one to create imprints in paint rolled onto the plate, using a variety of items like stencils, coins, tea doilies etc. It's a US product, which is probably why it's not widely known in the UK. It enables one to create monoprints without having to go through the traditional process of passing the image through a printing press. A lot of fun but I'm finding it much more difficult than it looks on YouTube! If anyone is interested, here is the Gelli Plate website: http://www.gelliarts.com/collections/gel-printing-plates.

Brilliant. As I have mentioned I looked at the video you suggested. Itis a really involved process, where you ahve to be good at planning too!

ps I am glad you made your own stencil. It works and demonstrates the versatility of the plate. It measn its use is unlimited and you won't have to make the same images as everyone else.

Thanks very much, Gudrun!

Very striking work - love the sky and background and then you get the simplicity of the bird overlaid - super stuff.

The result is brilliant! Love all the colours and textures..... I do admire your adventurous nature!

Thanks very much, Thea and Avril!

A very colourful and textural work Seok, very striking.

Great vibrant piece, really striking :)

A Golden Eagle spotted on the Tienshan Mountains at sunset. Almaty, Kazakhstan. Not sure I can strictly still call this a monoprint. It started as a monoprint, but I changed my mind about everything so many times, made countless changes and added so many layers that I think my monoprint may have disappeared beneath all the changes! I used Golden Heavy Body acrylic paint on my Gelli plate, stencils and sponging techniques, as well as cutting out a homemade stencil for my eagle from my photograph.
