Poor Rupert's feet must be freezing. He has a determined look though as if he won't let a bit of ice get in his way! Super work Satu, you've caught the movement in the legs and his upright stance. Good winter colours as well!

hi Satu I have been in Sandwell valley country park today feeding mallards on ice just like this . My wifw Charlie and I buy big bags of food to help the birds there especially now its so cold and icy .Ilike your lovely painting very much .

This has just put a big smile on my face ....Thanks Satu...Its the foot movement.

A new 'Dancing On Ice' contestant Satu! Made me smile too, it's great!

You put your left leg in, you put your leg out etc etc - yes gave me a smile too.

It's all been said really effective Satu

Lovely, looks like Rupert is part of the line-dancing team.

Thank you very much Louise, Dennis, Sylvia, Christine, Michael, Dennis and Carole for your comments! Always much appreciated!

Ducks are so comical out of water and you've certainly captured the look !!

He's a real charmer Satu, lovely observation.

Thank you very much Michael and Debs! I'll keep an eye on them with my camera ready to take a photo of a fallen mallard with his legs in the air for you Michael.

That duck does not look impressed by the slippery surface and his outraged expression made me laugh out loud. Lovely sketch that is full of character.

Thank you very much Gudrun and Thea!

This is gorgeous, Satu, and just made me smile! I love that squinty look and the wobbly stance. Beautifully captured!

On my walk this afternoon I saw several mallards wobbling on thin ice and they looked ever so funny. Here is one of them, Rupert.
