No, I wouldn't put in more colour. These faded tones tell us that a lot of time has gone by since these people lived. A good atmosphere.

Very sensitively painted Satu, I would leave the colours as they are.

Thank you Avril, Carole and Stephen, for your comments. I'll leave as it is then.

I always wonder how the people in my old black and white photos would look in colour, would it take away something or add? On balance I think I would leave it as it is.

Hi Satu. Have just looked through your very impressive gallery. Thank you for your kind comment on "Out of Africa" Also the comments about "Lenny" .... She is a grand daughter ...,wont tell her she looks like a boy. her name is Helenya hence the Lenny. It was a fun competition and I was amazed we won any thing , I am not a portrait person,, looking at this picture of yours you obviously are. Thanks again. Sylvia.

Thank you William and Sylvia!!

Very atmospheric Satu. Leave it as it is.

Reminds me of that artist lovely

It's brilliant as it is Satu. I've enjoyed looking through all your work. You clearly have a special talent. It makes me want to keep trying to achieve better. Thanks for your inspiration.

Thank you very much Michael for your comment and kind words!

I have painted this from an old photo and the couple here are my in-laws. There is no date to be found but I would think it's just before or during the 2nd world war. I letf the colours quite dull because I wanted to have the same feeling as in the photo. Should I go for more colour?
