Really interesting study Satu and smiley button

Thank you Dennis! We did more today and the exercise will lead into an abstract painting at the end.

It must be the week for exercises Satu. I had my first oil class for this term on Tuesday and we had a pile of empty plastic bottles on a table to paint with various tones of a one colour mix of paint. The idea was to overlap and segment the shapes.....in amongst it all we had to paint something or a section in the complimentary colour. It's good discipline. There is a great deal of detail and accuracy here for ink and a stick.

The next stage is going to be interesting Satu. These look like little people.

Thank you Fiona and Marjorie! It is good discipline and teaches me to look at the shapes more carefully. I'll post today's work tomorrow. I know that it's not very interesting to show them here but it might give people new ideas.

Wonderful work Satu, lovely, hope you had fun? :)

Thank you Maria! It was fun but at the same time quite demanding for somebody who normally doesn't draw.

This is such intriguing work, Satu! They could be the prototype of a science fiction book or movie! Shows that anything can be interesting and artistic if one could just use some creativity and imagination, and you have both qualities in spades!

Thank you ever so much, Seok for your lovely comment!

This is what I did last week with the new group. We all had to choose random pieces out a a box ( Legos, buttons, cloth pegs, wire, pipe cleaners etc. things that can be found in the special drawer in everybody's kitchen. Then we had to tie them with rubber bands into a bundle and draw it from different angles using a wooden stick and ink.
