Thank you so much Margaret, Heather, Linda and Russell. Yes, Heather, that fur did take an age! I found it particularly difficult to build the level of vibrancy needed to reflect the bright oranges of the fur in the sunlight! I also hadn't anticipated the number of different colours I'd be using in the coat.

I'm beginning a series of work celebrating British Wildlife and this is Mr Fox. I've been blessed with some lovely reference images from good friends who are hobbyist photographers and I have to say I just loved painting this! It was such a pleasure to paint with such vibrant colours for a change! This is painted in oil on board, 12 x 16"
