great picture ruth, love your work

Thank you, Mark.

Hi Ruth. If this is your first forray into acylics then you should be very happy with your work. I terms of "detail" I think any more would have been to overdo it. This seems right to me. Perhaps I would have preferred (my preference only) darker shadow tones, which would help the highlights to stand out. She appers to have a "lazy" right eye - but not having met her, it could be so! But all in all - a good job. You don't say whay acrylics you use. On the advice of Robert Jones, I'm experimenting with chromacolour. I'll see how that goes!

Hi Tony, and thanks for the comment. I wasn't happy with that right eye, and i think the trouble there is that I have not defined the lashes, which actually 'sweep' down partly over the eye. Will try to put that right with a finer brush....

Beautiful Ruth, you have captured her very well.

Quite a character, this one...long in the tooth and lame in the legs, with the addition of a deformed horn...She stared steadily at me, and I couldn't resist painting her. Approx 9 x 9" on Hannhemuhle paper.
