Alan will be thrilled Sarah. You've put your own style on it and it works well, the pathway is a great addition and the foreground grasses have great texture.

Looks good, Sarah! It just shows that when people paint the same scene, everyone's version is a bit different and that's great. I'm sure Alan will be delighted to see your successful interpretation.

Thankyou Rebecca, Fiona and Jane for your very nice comments. I only wish that I had his lighter touch, especially with the sky washes, but I'm very glad that I tried it . Thanks once again ladies :)

It's nice to see your version of the scene, Sarah. Love the atmosphere and the palette. I think it works really well.

Thanks Seok. I tried to keep to Alan' palette. I used Van Dyke brown and Paynes grey for the darks, which I don't usually have in my palette. It was a real eye opener because the colours go on very dark and I thought that I would spoil the painting, but they dried to a much lighter colour and I was very pleased with the effect.:)

Like your style Sarah, lovely paintings in you gallery

Thankyou for the compliment David. Much appreciated :)

this was a nice surprise ,when I looked in the gallery ,I think it is a great one . thanks Sarah

I'm so glad you like it Alan. I was annoyed with myself because I kept the sky too wet and all the colours merged too much. When it had dried, I went into it again with a patch of blue, which dried with a hard edge. Oh well! I live and learn, and I will definitely keep practising. Thanks once again Alan :)

Phew! that was hard Alan. Still haven't managed to get the tones as fine as yours but have made the discovery that my usual brush is a few sizes too small and so rooted out my "big Daddy" brush for further paintings. I enjoyed your video very much:) C&C gratefully received. Thanks once again Alan.
