Understand what you are saying Sarah. Try Gouache next time as watercolour and gouache are a perfect match.

I don't think it matters how you did its a cracker either way Sarah

Love this very attractive scene Sarah.

Very lively and colourful I like your combination of media on this lovely scene Sarah.

A lovely summery scene Sarah which has cheered me up! John is right about gouache working with watercolour. It has a matt finish and covers well. Not that I know much about acrylics as I've never tried them :)

Lovely scene, looks nice and warm. Love the tree in the background and the colourful flowers.

All things bright and beautiful. A joyful painting Sarah.

Beautiful painting Sarah. Love the bright flowers in the foreground.

It looks a delightful summery scene Sarah, very lovely painting.

Yes, I agree with the above comments, Sarah: this is exactly what we need in those rainy days. Well done.

Really beautiful painting, Sarah fresh countryside effect

Great! I love hay bales too! Such fun!

Ah summer, can’t wait to witness this kind of scene again Sarah, top notch.

I'm sure that you did the right thing Sarah, yes, lovely work and colours.

I think some opaque watercolour paints work almost as well as acrylic if you apply them quite thickly. Cadmium colours for example. Having said that, I like the result of this. Beautiful light in this!

Thankyou everyone for all your kind words and advice on this one. I'm having a declutter of all my paintings. Some go on the fire and some are reworked. This one escaped the flames :)

It started off as a watercolour but it needed a little extra something and so I got my acrylics out.........not sure if that was a good idea.
