Lovely bright work Theresa and what an interesting mix acrylic and pastel, gorgeous colours!

Hey Teresa thanks for your comment on my jumping for joy dog pastel portrait, I use pastel pencils mostly but can also use soft and oil pastels especially for eyes

The colours you have used really capture the heat and dryness of this scene. I am assuming this is somewhere in the med, or similar? Balmy evening.

Hi Ros,thanks for your comment and additional information.I've just finished an acrylic painting where I added oil pastel rather than my usual soft pastel. I think I prefer the soft pastel asI know I can add acrylic if I make a mistake!

Thanks, Gudren. The painting is based on one of my favourite places, San Martinho which is north of Lisbon, Portugal. This is my 2nd painting working on the theme, The Golden Hour.

Thanks, Rob.

So lovely. It reminds me of the light we would see in Cape Town on summer evenings.

Thanks Fran and lucky you to have had such wonderful views .

Brilliance of colour and depth, Teresa. Is this painted at home or a holiday painting? If home, what glorious surroundings there are, which so clearly inspire you.

Hi Ruth, thanks for your comment. We go to an area in Portugal called "The Silver Coast", it has more rain than the Algarve which makes for an interesting landscape !

Another stunning piece. Superb use of space to lead the viewer's eye.

Thanks Seok.

This is a pastel and acrylic painting on Saunders Waterford paper which was primed with Art Spectrum pastel primer.
