Gosh, I bet that was a hard one to paint, all those different angles and arches, you are brave. Very different to your lovely landscapes but a beautiful painting non the less, very pleasing on the eye, I like it.

Hello Val Yes it was a bit of a challenge, but I just fancied something other than landscapes. It was painted over several weeks and after many mistakes, which of course, being oil, can be painted over - probably why I do few watercolours. On the whole I am reasonably satisfied with it, but doubt whether I would attempt anything similar again.

Hi Peter I like what I see in your colourful gallery, here...this is particularly attractive...

Patience you would need for this. I think this is smashing - awkward perspective and so very well done. Lovely colours used and love the light and shade.

Fantastic job you've done here. Reminds me of the Holy Trinity church in York, with the old boxed in family pews. Lovely colours too.

I love teh interplay of lights and darks, indoor and outdoor. Well done

Thank you all for your kind comments. Carole, you are correct, it was painted from a photo of Holy Trinity Church York

Lovely work. Great mood
