Lovely work Geoff and the birds really make it.

Great painting, Geoff; so clear and clean. That was one bright view and you've truly caught the spirit of the day. Brian

What a fabulous painting Geoff, such wonderful detail, I love it!

An absolute gem, Geoff. Beautifully painted and the bird life is utterly convincing (adding birds to a scene is often my downfall)

Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments. I agonised for a while over the size of the gannets with regard to scale but as they are quite large birds I feel I have now got right balance.

This is gorgeous Geoff.

A lovely painting Geoff, such clear and bright colours

A very beautiful painting Geoff, such a relaxing scene to view. Really admire your handling of the rocks and rugged coast and all the colors. Your soaring Gannets give it life and added beauty.

Thank you Paul and everyone. Some paintings are just a joy to work on and this one, through all its challenges is such a painting and all your respective comments have echoed that.

Another beauty Geoffers, full of summer promise, draws me in from this miserable winter weather , oh to fly like the birds over this wonderful scene ,love it great treatment of coastal cliffs old friend

This portrayal is based on a view discovered walking along the southern coast of Alderney last summer. There is a huge rock further round which is smothered in Gannets and their 'deposits' but this one is more attractive! I was also taken by the plethora of colours in the rock formations as well as the flora and fauna. The painting is in oil and measures 24" x 18"
