Excellent painting and beautifully detailing, my favourite birds to sketch and paint are owls, red kites then sparrow hawks simply because there are plenty about , and I had easy access to the owls. I suppose after that any that take my fancy info like the smaller birds wrens , blue tits etc and have done several in the past.

This is such a lovely bird to both paint and see, and completing this in watercolour is a lovely challenge. I used quite a lot of techniques for this one, from wet in wet, dry brush, wet on dry, stippling, scumbling and using many layers of this lovely transparent medium. What would be your favourite bird to paint? Paul 🎨
