Thank you for the information Paul. I have been asked to do a family portrait and I am not that confident with watercolour or Acrylic. So this has given me thought and inspiration. Well done!

Michael if you are having a go at a group portrait might I suggest a really good pencil sketch first. This allows you to concentrate on the lights and darks without the worry of colour. It also let's you get the composition right as well. Another tip is to make a paper mask around your subjects to protect the plain areas from accidental marking. This gives the choice of a plain background or at least won't show through any other colour. Best of luck!
