This is lovely Patsy. A super image, fresh and free. Super job

You're definitely getting there ... and the latest calligraphy looks right; I do have some samples of Chinese calligraphy, and remember reading somewhere that the best way to learn is to study with someone who is Chinese - because there's more to it than just the technical ability: it helps if you can think Chinese. As someone put it, you must breathe as the Chinese do ... and I suspect this entails a lifetime of study. At 60-ish, I've left that a bit late ... but wish I could command the freedom, with the discipline, that this sort of painting demands. Good luck with your continuing studies - I can certainly trace the progress in your work, so you've obviously got something right!

Really well done Patsy. I love the cricket too.

Beautiful, interesting combo, Patsy!

Lovely work, Patsy. It is almost Japanese or Chinese in style. Very delicately done and well observed. This is one of your best!

This is your best so far. There's a lot of form and contrast in it. It looks like you're veering towards a more western style again. I think you'll end up with Patsy's western chinese work. I hope you're gaining confidence from this exercise. You should do. It's good.

A very lovely painting. I like everything about it.

I really love this, the cricket is fantastic so life like, love the colours in this as well, smashing.
