This is Christine Kyles' firts attempt at Paul's challenge which she sent in saying: 'Paul's challenge was quite fun with distant buildings, trees and hedgerows and I decided to have a go in watercolour. I used cerulean blue well diluted with a little white mixed in to create the sky and drew out the hills, tree and building shapes. I washed over the central area with yellow ochre again well diluted to create the corn field then I used cadmium yellow mixed with burnt sienna for the lower half and just below the tree line I used burnt sienna and burnt umber to create a darker shading in various places. I then used a rigger to add wisps of white, yellow, green and brown grasses to the foreground. for the trees I used hook green, veridian hue and sage green plus some burnt umber and gamboge yellow dotted about or mixed in.'
