Not only have your brought the b and w photo to life, you've also kept the atmosphere and period feel to perfection. I particularly admire the way you've used the strongest actual colour in the distance, which balances the strong tones in the foreground. The bottle green top of the foreground figure is particularly well judged - it holds the painting together.

I thought this was pen and wash. A truly excellent painting , the expressive marks themselves bring it to life

Thank you Robert and Diana for your comments.This is a painting t have had sitting around for some time.Twice I put it on ebay but without luck,so decided to revisite it and strengthen up as many parts as possible,without losing the original mood I had tried to capture when I first did it.
