Really good drawing Nick, beautiful feathers and details on the bird and the buildings are great as well

Excellent drawing and a nice touch of artistic composition by adding the bird.

Thanks for your kind comments. I prefer drawing / painting fur and feather, so the Raven was a welcome comfort zone in the unfamiliar territory of a building! The Raven was also the family crest for John Corbett; Salt King of Droitwich and renowned philanthropist in the town. The Raven Hotel, a listed building, is still the same with the exception of the railings which were taken for the war effort. It has been recently purchased and we await its new lease of life.

I have just seen Fudge the rabbit and had a look through your animal art work and I have to say I think they are all very characterful. you really capture them well. I go alot on how a picture makes me feel and with this raven it really has atmosphere, they are formiddable birds and command a certain amount of regallness if there is such a word. you have created this in your picture and I really am impressed.

This is really good Nick. Wish I could draw like this.

Another graphite offering. I am a member of the Droitwich Spa Art Society and we exhibited on a theme of Droitwich. I chose the Raven Hotel (having had our wedding reception there) and added the raven to give the picture some more depth. Sadly the picture did not sell and the hotel is now closed.
