Scott Benites

Biography

SB is a New York City Artist. His cityscape paintings are populated by people and by animals. The animals themselves happen upon the cityscapes with as much relish as the artist himself has done. Benites began to discover his artistic self at a young age, as a result of a mentorship that, logically enough, came out of Moma (Museum of Modern Art). Years later, he was using a combination of acrylics, Oil Paint and digital media in his professional pieces, and the nature of these works gave him the leverage to say: “This Art is my present creation." "As I paint a lion getting off of a NYC subway, I feel that I am painting what is in the deepest recesses of my imagination. As I paint a man in a business suit with a raccoon’s head, walking through a city street, I feel that I am painting what is in the deepest recesses of my imagination. This is my goal as a painter: to create in a painting or sculpture what is inside my imagination to positively influence the people cherishing my work. It's true that animals comprise my inner world to a large degree, and that I often place animals in human situations that to humans would seem utterly ordinary. Perhaps these human/animal juxtapositions can show us the loving bond between all that exist; if so, then my undying faith in my work, and in divine potential, will have been put to good use. Thank you."
