Buriton Doorway

Buriton Doorway

This is a super vignette of this lovely doorway - I can see why it attracted you. I think you have done a brilliant job of representing it - loose and expressive.

It's not cliched at all, it's a really lovely, atmospheric piece.

Nice work Philip and typical of the village, we know it well - living in Hampshire.

When collecting referernce photographs for The Beauty of Buriton, I couldn't help noticing this doorway view around the back of the house featured at the bootom left of the comsposition. It didn't make the composition, because there's nothing specific to tie it to this house. Infact it could be almost anywhere, and if I'm honest has abit of a cliched feel about it. However, I liked the look of it and enjoyed painting it so job done really. Watercolour on half an Imperial sheet of 640 gsm Rough Fabriano.
