Wonderful painting, Michael, amazing colours.

Many years ago I was sailing from Stonehaven to a small fishing village called Gourdon, on the East coast of Scotland. The wind dropped and we could see a fog bank moving in, so we started the engine and proceeded as quickly as we could but it overtook us and so we were now in thick fog. We proceeded very slowly with my wife on the bows (it's a very rocky stretch of cost) as we endeavoured to continue moving south. After what seemed like ages but was only maybe 2 - 3 hours or so, we had no idea where we were. I was considering dropping the anchor for the night where we were but suddenly there was a glow from the setting sun and directly behind that we could see the tower of the church in Inverbervie. That meant we were just a couple of miles from out harbour and made it back without incident. Your wonderful painting is so reminiscent of that evening!

What a wonderful story gary, it sounded like a passage from frankenstein. Thankyou very much my friend.

About the Artist
Michael Hanrahan

I love art but it's very much up and down as I go about my day to day life as a painter and often I really struggle to paint therefore I fall out with it. You're only as good as your last painting as they say. My greatest love is music and I prefer to write classical music for orchestra than paint…
