An update on Peaceful Haven

Great colours Max. A lovely jumble of houses on the quayside. Maybe the birds at the front could do with some shadows on them to give them a bit more solidarity?.

My wife tells me off if I do the trees too intense, I think the colour makes them look nearer than they should be, we the middle one at least. quite good though.

Yes Sylvia i agree the birds need some shadows & i aim to do this the painting isn't quite finished. I always welcome your comments. Its very difficult to get pastels to work with watercolour John but this was a first attempt at trying this mix media, i still have some work to do on it, but thank you for your comments.

Pastels arn't easy are they Max...I got some out a couple of months ago and quickly put them away wasn't ready for them...have you thought of using watercolour pencils instead that's what I'm using in my Kimberley Landscape to give me some guidelines...you can go in as light or as heavy as you like
