Devastation

It can be heartbreaking to see the damage and desolation that these fires cause Malcolm. The fires that are lit through maliciousness are the worst, they do controlled Muir burning here but even that can stray and get out of hand sometimes. Your painting is a stark reminder of that desolation.

All so true Fiona, but hopefully given time nature will bounce back, unfortunately there are some species of things like spiders etc that are only found here and it is the breeding season for the Nightjars, the Firefighters actually found and rescued a newly born young Fawn and it survived so fingers crossed.

This is a sketch of a devastating fore that swept through parts of the Humber head Peat lands Nature Reserve were I am a volunteer, this happened in the last few weeks. It devastated a large area of nationally important peat bog with fire crews from several different county's helping plus a water dropping helicopter.
