The same lovely sense of space, was surprised to see it is a small painting. Have been there tramping in my younger days. We were sitting having lunch somewhere up the valley when a kea (native mountain parrot) hopped down and started drinking tea from one of the mugs!

Thanks Sandra, it is a wonderful area - spent a week here with a son in law who was participating in the National sheepdog trials.Made full use of the time with camera and sketch book. Have met the Keas in Arthur's Pass area - they certainly aren't shy birds. Have tramped in the Nelson Lakes area and Lewis to Arthur via Hope River , - Porter's Pass, Minchin
