You've captured the larger forms of the figures beautifully, which I think is the main subject that holds the viewer's eye. Having said that, you did well on the facial features too, Louise. Well done!

I love the colours in this one Louise but it does look a bit stiffer than the previous. They don't really need facial features in this kind of paintings or just a very vague stroke for shadows. After having said that I still like it a lot!

Thank you Seok and Satu. ..Satu, I'd thought the same, I've learned something!

I think the man in the middle works well!

I like the man too, and the handbag :)

Thanks Debs and Val, I'm ok with handbags, it's the ladies carrying them who are the problem!

Brave soul that you are... I shy away from including figures. This excersise of yours is very good. I must spend tome doing this. These little people are lively and interesting.

I do hope that you do Sylvia, I'd love to see them.

Fresh and lively work Louise, definitely making progress.

But in which direction Stephen..LOL

Great idea to just show the features on the central figure and then blur the others. Works very well and these people really look as if they are moving about on whatever business has brought them to the city. P.S. Great handbag!!

great as it is - doesn't need anything further - facial etc

Thanks Thea and Michael. In future I'll not bother with their features. Give them faces and they can look a little strange sometimes. I remember a good painting of mine with a larger man in the foreground who had an actual face. The paint dried with a 'bloom' so he looked sweaty and then my family asked who the gorilla was at the front..LOL

This is so frustrating! I tried to add some facial features. Perhaps I shouldn't rush them quite so much but any pre drawing and I'd loose that elusive spontaneity.
