That is what I am basing my attempts at abstract on Luoise, so thanks for the ideas. This works so well and attacts me, where I didn't look at them once.

i like this very much Louise, the abstracts get better and better. Are they something which you've always done, side by side with the more figurative or are they a recent progression?

Oh gosh, now you will think me really odd! This one looks like a continuation of your last one - the getaway car has crashed (I think that because it is at a tilted angle) and a small crowd has appeared to rubberneck and he faceless figures are the sort of people who inhabit the night in a city. Am I getting too carried away, lol! However, don't you think it is good that your painting suggests a whole story to me, with drama and consequences - surely that's what good art is about, and this one is very good indeed.

Thank you Derek, Marjorie and Thea for letting me hear your thoughts! Derek, I just simplified the scene really and tried to balance the shapes. Marjorie, I seem to get these whims and like to try them out on paper. I suppose I swap and change my way of working quite a lot until I'm happy with the result which in this case I'm not quite yet. Whether it's a good thing to keep trying different ways of working, I'm not sure, but it suits me. ! And Thea, I shall re name this one as 'The Getaway Car'..LOL

Is the next one going to be 'The Arrest' then 'The Court Scene' then 'The Gallows' - whatever they are all so good.

Your cityscapes lend themselves so well to abstract art Louise, I really like this one.

I agree with Christine, semi-abstract is my favourite! This is good and your people are always very well painted Louise.

Great development Louise and the washes are gorgeous

I like Michael's idea! You go from strength to strength with anything you attempt Louise....

Many thanks Michael, Christine, Carole, Dennis and Fiona. Fiona, not too sure that I do, like the idea that is..LOL

Strong graphic painting .Like the figures in the bottom right.

Many thanks David, I think that the figures are the best bit as well. I got lost when it came to the buildings!
