Just a beautiful painting, love the colours'

Fantastic work = obviously, you had huge patience, but the important thing here is the artistic vision, without which patience is just nit-picking. Are you a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists? If not, you should be on the strength of this work alone.

No I'm not a member of that society. I love painting wildlife but have to rely on zoo and park photos. The Society may be a little too purist to let me in when it comes to use of references etc. Many of those can go on safaris. i've even heard of some of them hiding to paint from life in the bush. I find the precise delicate working of the patterns of creatures and feathers as very meditative. Sometimes I lose my way in the maze of their markings and the tones of the form. When it gets frustrating I stop and rest. I have several things on the go at once so that when I get lost or it becomes tedious I switch and do something else. When i go back to it, I am refreshed and see it with new eyes.

This is really lovely, your gallery is really beautiful your detail and colour with pastel & colour pencils is very good indeed
