Birch Textures
I have long wanted to paint birch trees, especially the wonderful textured bark on the trunks. We have a patch of birch trees near our house on the edge of some forestry land so I decided to give them a go. I used some crackle paste to prepare my surface and then painted the woodland scene with watercolour and acrylic ink. I was really pleased with the textured effects of the bark. DS Quinacridone Gold, Burnt Scarlet and Moonglow with Sepcia ink was the colour palette.
