Not sure everyone reads the descriptions on right. If you don't read this one, this will make no sense at all.

I think it's all part of the process of creativity Lewis. I'm sure sometime in the future this same idea you had will come together.

Interesting design element.

A very good rescue Lewis. Looks good.

The characters are really good Lew and I don’t see the problems you describe however I do know when something doesn’t sit right nothing will make it look fine . I don’t know what causes the sudden going off the idea but I do get the same thing happening.

I like it Lewis. Looks effective.

It happens all right.... Not every idea works out: happily, most of yours do.

Like the interesting mock up on the right - perhaps you’ll go back to it later.

I hope you come back to this Lew, it's a great idea. I see nothing wrong with cartoon mode, it may not be what you intended but it doesn't mean you can't make the most of it.

It's a very interesting and creative idea, Lewis and worth pursuing when you feel like returning to it.

Thanks to all for your interest and comments. Very much appreciated. I went off it in part because I messed up the girl's pic. It was all to be done on one A2 sheet, I felt I needed to start again, the thought that I'd have to paint sand in reasonable close up also helped to put me off (The pics, some overlapped others, were meant to be dropped photos, so the sand or shingle would have to be represented fairly close up). But these things happen and I enjoyed doing the bits I did. I might return to the idea later...a kind of one page 'whodunnit.' I cut out the bit I like, the sailor, and the paper left will be used to test colour mixes when I'm painting.

Scattered photos on a beach is an intriguing idea Lewis, I hope you give it another go.

I think it’s a fascinating idea, I hope you return to it because I’m interested to know the story behind the photos now x

Can’t wait for the rest of the story! Interesting concept - the benefit is that if anything goes wrong you can cover it up with an overlap.

Another wonderful creation full of humour and character Lewis.

Had an idea for a large pic. Five pictures (like photos) dropped on a beach. The pics would suggest a story. Got so far and went off the idea, it didn't help that I got the girl's head too big...must have been in cartoon mode. Pic on left only part worth keeping. Pic on right is a mock up of how it might have looked...there would have been five pics. It happens.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
