She's lovely Lewis!

Very nice, Lewis, and with your own inimitable style. There's depth and thought in that look, one that catches the eye. The viewer is left wondering why she's staring so intently, and consequently lingers over the image. Brian

Very good Lewis, one of your best. D

Beautiful

Lovely job, Lewis.

Brilliant, nothing wrong with that hair and the face is nice too.

Look ‘ere Cooper ‘ave you gone all serious on us? This confirms that you are a very skilled artist and it’s good to see your more thoughtful side in this way. A lovely painting.

I agree with Tessa, it's very skillfully painted Lewis, the eyes are beautiful and I find it hard to paint portraits in watercolour 😀

Terrific work Lew. Attractive and lifelike and working on small stuff is ideal for experimenting. This is a really good face and hair is never easy at best.

Thanks to all for your kind comments, this is just an exercise really. Can't claim originality when copying something. But these little pics are relatively quick to do, and fun of course.

Definatly the eyes have it !

This is first class Lewis, you are so good at portraits, you should do more. Hair is grand by the way.

Nice one!

Time to do another postcard size pic. Hair and Trees (or any foliage) are things that I have to fuss over, not too confident about those. So I copied this pic of a girl with a lot of hair in the hope that some of it will stick in my memory...for when I'm making stuff up. Watercolour on a scrap of 300 gsm paper. (I like doing these little pics, I've got a big postcard album that I'm hoping to fill with them.)

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
